-
- Speak Freely is an Open Source Internet Telephone that lets
- you talk to others over the Internet just as you would a
- regular telephone. There are several features, including
- compression, encryption, and an answering machine for when
- you aren't available but want others to leave a message for
- you.

- ABOUT PC-TO-PHONE CALLING
-
- Speak Freely does NOT allow you to call regular telephones
- around the world. Each person must be using Speak Freely in
- order to communicate at all. Obviously, it would be a great
- feature to add, but doing so would be expensive to maintain
- a set of gateways. I did manage to develop such a service for
- Go2Call.Com using parts of Speak Freely, but I don't think they
- would want me to publish that source code. :)
-
- WHAT'S NEW
-
- Version 7.2 fixes a long-standing audio bug, so you should
- notice at least some improvements in audio quality. Some
- will notice more of a difference than others.
-
- The help file has not changed from 7.1, because I don't have
- the old Microsoft Help Compiler. I will have to rewrite most
- of it using their new HTML Help format. Urgh.
-
- Updated the source code to compile with Microsoft Visual C++
- 6.0.
-
- Removed the Money Saved indicator since it was confusing a
- lot of people into thinking they were being billed for the
- calls they made. I don't like it when companies remove
- features either, but I just got tired of all of the questions
- about this one.
